UN POCO DE HISTORIA:
Estas fueron las locomotoras de rodaje "Pacific" (2-3-1) más numerosas de Baviera. Se fabricaron durante casi 25 años (teniendo en cuenta únicamente las de la K. Bay.), siendo entregadas las últimas, a partir de 1927, ya a la DRG. Conocidas con el apelativo de Bavaresas, Reina Bávara o de Gran Dama, durante muchos años traccionaron los mejores trenes de la Compañía. Se fabricaron en 14 tipos diferentes, con ligeras variantes entre ellos; al que hay que añadir una reforma de varias máquinas de los cuatro últimos tipos, que dieron un tipo nuevo (matriculado en la serie 18 6xx). Fueron fabricadas por Maffei (salvo las 18 del tipo o, construídas por Henschel) y diseñadas por los ingenieros Anton Hammel y Heinrich Leppla. Algo más pequeñas que las de la clase IV f de Baden; el diámetro de las ruedas motrices era de 1.870 mm (salvo en los tipos d y e, que eran de 2.000 mm), lo que les permitía moverse bien tanto en terrenos llanos como montañosos, alcanzando los 120 km/h. Como compensación por los gastos de la I Guerra Mundial, en 1919, 16 fueron dadas a Francia y tres a Bélgica. |
